About eFIRE

eFIRE is an Electronic Field-based Interactive RxFire Experience created by NC State University in collaboration with state forestry agencies and the Southeast Regional Partnership for Planning and Sustainability’s (SERPPAS) Prescribed Fire Work Group to better ensure a useful tool for individuals interested in managing their privately owned southeastern pine stands with prescribed fire. The SERPPAS Prescribed Fire Work Group consists of federal, state, and private representatives throughout the Southeast focused on increasing the amount of prescribed fire to enhance longleaf pine and other fire-maintained species, to decrease the risk of catastrophic wildfires, and to improve wildlife habitat.
